Privacy Policy

Short version: This tool does not collect, store, or share your personal information or medication details. Nothing you enter is saved when you leave the page.
What this tool does
When to Refill is a browser-based date calculator. It estimates when your medication supply will run out and when you should request a refill, based on information you enter directly into your browser.
All calculations happen locally in your browser. No data is sent to our servers as part of the calculation process.
Information you enter
When you use the manual calculator, the following information is entered and used only within your browser session:
- Dispensed date or start date
- Quantity supplied
- Daily dose
- Optional: medication name, doses remaining, safety buffer, pharmacy processing time, appointment wait time
This information is not transmitted to any server, not stored in any database, and not retained after you close or refresh the page.
Photo uploads
If you use the "Upload label instead" feature, your photo is sent to the Anthropic API (Claude) for text extraction only. This is used solely to attempt to read the medication label and pre-fill the calculator fields.
- Uploaded images are not stored on our servers
- Images are processed by Anthropic's API under their privacy policy
- Extracted data is returned to your browser only and is not logged or stored by us

You are not required to use the photo upload feature. The manual entry option does not involve any external data transmission.
Cookies and tracking
This site does not use cookies, tracking pixels, analytics scripts, advertising scripts, or any third-party tracking tools. We do not use Google Analytics or similar services.
The only external resource loaded by this page is Google Fonts, which loads the typefaces used in the interface. Google's font service may log standard request data such as your IP address and browser type. You can review Google's privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy.
No account, no profile
This tool does not require you to create an account. No user profiles are created. No medication history is recorded. There is no login, no dashboard, and no persistent user data of any kind.
Children
This tool is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children.
Changes to this policy
If this privacy policy changes materially, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the tool after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
